T-Mobile have just announced a new offer for their customers. It’s called “Night In” and from next week it’ll let you enjoy a mid-week treat from Blockbuster. T-Mobile customers can rent a game and a movie or two movies for two nights and grab some snacks plus a bottle of soft drink for just a fiver.
You can choose from hundreds of DVD’s, Blu-ray discs and games (yes, all the latest releases too) and then grab your mates for a cheap night in. The exact details will come next week but we can tell you that T-Mobile customers will be given a code to redeem in their local Blockbuster store and it’s one offer per customer per week.
It looks like T-Mo are trying to emulate the success of “Orange Wednesdays” and who are we to argue.

Danny Bilson – executive vice president of “Core Games” at rebounding publisher THQ – recently told CVG that his “fighting group is actually taking on the management of another game that we’re going to announce at E3 that has a certain amount of melee combat in it … .” Before spilling all the beans, Bilson added, “It’s a major developer and you’ll get exactly what I’m talking about when I’m able to talk about it. It’s really cool, it’s another one of the things I’m doing to rebuild everything around the core division of THQ.”
This reminded us of something Bilson told Joystiq when we spoke with him at the Game Developer’s Conference earlier this month. “We have one active product that we’re going to announce pretty soon and it’s on Move, it’s on Wii, and it’s on Natal,” Bilson said. When asked if “active product” meant “physically active” Bilson replied, “It’s physically active. On a big brand. And it’s super awesome, we’ll definitely show it at E3. I’m very proud of it.”
Whether or not these two projects are one and the same remains to be seen, but there are some parallels worth pointing out: A “certain amount of melee combat” could allude to a “physically active” product and this unnamed fighting game is “really cool” while the unnamed motion game is “super awesome.”

UFC prez Dana White previously said he’d blacklist any fighter who signed up for EA’s upcoming mixed martial arts game, EA Sports MMA. And now, Kotaku reports that White is willing to play nice with defectors who chose to be in EA’s game — despite his remaining distaste for the game’s publisher.
When asked whether White would still ban those fighters participating in EA’s game, he told Kotaku he would not. Even with EA being the bigger company, White isn’t willing to just roll over and submit. “But believe me this is still going to continue to be a battle,” he said. “…they’re the me-toos. The UFC game is the original game.”
White even had some choice words to say about trying to get EA to make a mixed martial arts game. He apparently talked with them in the past about doing one, but EA told him “it’s not a real sport” and refused to even take a meeting. So, obviously, White has a bit of a chip on his shoulder — something we’d say could easily be corrected through a stiff arm bar.
